Sono felice di annunciare che la casa editrice canadese Les Productions d’OZ ha pubblicato oggi la composizione per flauto e chitarra Concertino di Alghero, omaggio alla poetessa algherese Maria Chessa Lai (1922 – 2012)

La composizione si articola in tre movimenti:
I. Contas de dolças rondallas
II. En l’alba clara
III. Les fulles més no tremolen
Il primo movimento Contas de Dolças Rondallas (trad.: leggende di dolci favole) è una leyenda che fa uso di due temi principali la cui elaborazione si intreccia in modo continuo tra i due strumenti attraverso l’osservazione prismatica delle cellule fondamentali. Il breve episodio prima della ripresa pur non rinunciando alle elaborazioni dei temi principali e sviluppandosi su un tappeto ritmicamente immobile, assume le sembianze di un soggetto celato, scoperto come spostando per pochi attimi l’attenzione dalla scena principale al contesto in secondo piano. Il secondo movimento En l’Alba Clara (trad.: Nell’alba chiara) non abbandona del tutto l’ambiente tonale del primo, ma evocando i giochi e le infinite cromature delle primissime luci dell’alba, si muove su cromatismi ondulanti privi di qualsiasi staticità che danno origine a tre brevi episodi. Nel movimento finale Les Fulles més no Tremolen (trad.: Le foglie più non tremano) l’impeto sopito dell’immaginaria osservatrice di una porzione di quiete esistenziale, è messo in primo piano dall’andamento rutilante marcato a fuoco fin dalle primissime battute. Il dialogo serrato tra i due strumenti e le ampie escursioni dinamiche si amalgamano dando forma ad una pasta sonora dalla quale i richiami dei temi passati sono come estratti da una memoria perduta.
Le due artiste hanno incluso la registrazione del brano nel loro progetto discografico Tales from Sardinia grazie ad un importante contratto discografico firmato con la casa olandese Brilliant Classics pochi mesi fa.

The Concertino di Alghero is a tribute to the Alghero poet Maria Chessa Lai (1922 – 2012). It consists of three movements inspired by lines from the poem En dins de mi (Inside Me). The first movement, Contas de Dolças Rondallas (Legends of Sweet Fairy Tales) is a leyenda that makes use of two main themes whose elaboration is continuously interwoven between the two instruments through prismatic observation of fundamental cells. The brief episode before the reprise while not forsaking the elaborations of the main themes and developing on a rhythmically motionless carpet, takes on the appearance of a concealed subject, uncovered as if by shifting attention for a few moments from the main scene to the context in the background. The second movement En l’Alba Clara (In The Clear Dawn) does not entirely abandon the tonal ambience of the first, but evoking the games and endless chromaticism of the very first light of dawn, it moves on undulating chromaticisms devoid of any staticity that give rise to three short episodes. In the final movement Les Fulles més no Tremolen (The Leaves No Longer Tremble), the dormant impetus of the imagined observer of a portion of existential stillness is brought to the fore by the rutilant progression marked in focus from the very first bars. The tight dialogue between the two instruments and the wide dynamic excursions amalgamate giving shape to a sonic paste; from which the reminders of past themes are as if extracted from a lost memory.
